About Sentebale

Sentebale

Sentebale, meaning ‘forget me not’ in Sesotho, is considered guide to stigma-free, evidence based and comprehensive information about sexual and reproductive health (SRH). The name emphasises the importance of not forgetting about your sexual health as a part of achieving holistic wellness.

Created by OurEquity NPC, with technical expertise from the United Nations Special Rapporteur on the right to health and Best-selling Author, Dr Tlaleng Mofokeng, and powered by OurEquity, the app offers invaluable information on: the anatomy and physiology; the reproductive health cycle; hormone therapy; infections, sexual pleasure, safer sex tools, pregnancy management and outcomes, as well as distress and post-violence information.

As it stands, queer, trans and gender-diverse people adolescents and cisgender women continue to experience. So, the content in this app has been structured to affirm, respect and promote access to the information they need, whenever they need it.

As such, we want to create a platform that helps uphold autonomy by empowering people to make their own decisions.

Meet Dr. T

Dr. Tlaleng Mofokeng (MBChB, UKZN), the United Nations Special Rapporteur on the right to health.

In consulting rooms, I’m more affectionately referred to as “Dr. T” by some of my patients and I have forged strong doctor-patient relationships built on humanity, trust, compassion and mutual respect.

More than a medical practitioner, my practice is an extension of my advocacy and activism for sexual and reproductive health rights. I believe people should have dignified and quality care to protect their dignity and bodily intergrity.
